Tp-Link Router Power Light Flashing

  • Step 1:The First LED for the power icon turns ON when the device gets connected to an electrical source. When you pair a device with your router, the power light keeps flashing. The power LED also flashes when the router is in the power-saving mode. 
  • Step 2:The center one with the house icon stands for Powerline connection. When there is a connection, the powerline connection LED turns ON. When the router’s power saver mode turns ON, the LED turns OFF. If the data rate is more than or equal to 80 Mbps, the light is in green. If it is 48-80MBps, the LED light will be in orange, and for 48Mbps or lesser data rate, the LED will be in red. In case the powerline network status is in excellent condition, you can see a Yellow-green light. Red light flashes when there is a poor connection.
  • Step 3:The last LED is the Ethernet LED. When you connect the Ethernet cable to an Ethernet port on the router and device, the LED turns ON. The Ethernet LED flashes when there is a data transfer happening.
  • Step 4:The Wi-Fi LED flashes when a wireless connection is established. Turn it OFF by pressing the Wi-Fi button.

TP-Link Router Power Light Flashing Steps

If the power light keeps on flashing, there may be some problem with the router. The procedure given below explains how to resolve this issue.

  • Step 1:Check for any physical damages and examine all connections.
  • Step 2:Unplug and re-plug the power cable after a few seconds.
  • Step 3:If the problem exists, locate the Reset button behind the router.
  • Step 4:Press the Reset button for about 30 seconds.
  • Step 5:If the issue is not resolved, it is a firmware associated problem.
  • Step 6:Connect your router to your computer using an Ethernet cable or Wi-Fi.
  • Step 7:Log in to the router’s address and go to the setup page. Enter the login credentials, which are present on the router’s label.
  • Step 8:Locate Management Mode Firmware Upgrade.
  • Step 9:Now, select the firmware file from your computer by clicking Browse.
  • Step 10:Click Apply and follow the other instructions shown on the screen to complete the setup.
  • Step 11:If the TP-link router power light doesn’t stop flashing, reboot your device and router. Set up the router again.
