Keep the router on a table or a flat surface and extend the antennas to the maximum angle.
Power off the modem and connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the modem and the other end of it to the WAN port of the router.
Power on the modem followed by powering on the router; wait until the signal LED light turns to solid red or solid blue color.
We can configure the router using the TP-Link tether apps as well as using a web interface from the computer.
In the same way, you can use a mobile phone or a computer to configure the same.
Before setting up the router, kindly note down the user name and password, which is printed on the router's backside sticker.
You need to connect the router using an Ethernet cable from any of the LAN ports to your computer or laptop’s LAN port.
If you like to use your smartphone for router configuration, you need to download the TP-Link Tether application. Go to the Wi-Fi settings and connect to the router using the default SSID and password.
If you are using your computer or laptop, go to LAN settings and make sure to set the LAN IP settings in DHCP mode as the DHCP server is enabled in the TP-Link Wi-Fi router.
The default (gateway) IP address of the router will be 192.168.0.1, and the default login username and password will be admin.
Go to your default browser and type the default gateway address to configure the basic and advanced settings.
You will be able to see the router login page asking you to create a new password for your router.
Create a strong password. Make sure you create different passwords for the 2.4GHZ wireless band as well as for the 5GHZ Wireless band and enter the router settings page.
Save the settings and all your devices will disconnect from the Wi-Fi. Connect again by entering the new password.
