HOW TO CONNECT ACCESS POINT TO ROUTER WIRELESSLY

The following guidelines can help you to connect the access point to the router wirelessly.

Step 1:First, launch a new web browser and type the IP address of the router in the address bar.
Step 2:Now, the access point’s web-based setup page will open.
Step 3:If you are prompted for credentials, key in the default IP address on the address bar and hit Enter. Click the OK button.
Step 4:Click the Wireless tab on the web-based setup page.
Step 5:Now, type (SSID) the name of the network.
Step 6:Make sure that the SSID Broadcast is enabled do that the wireless devices can recognize the wireless network.
Step 7:Next, click the Wireless Security option and then choose the Security Mode that you want.
Step 8:In the WPA-Personal section, type the desired password in the Passphrase field.
Step 9:In the WEP field, type the 10-hex digit key in the Key 1 field.
Step 10:The router is now connected to the access point.

HOW TO CONVERT A ROUTER TO AN ACCESS POINT

Perform the following guidelines to convert a router into an access point.

• Step 1:First, you have to note the IP address of the router.
• Step 2:Connect a computer to a router with an Ethernet cable or over Wi-Fi.
• Step 3:For Windows users, go to the Network and Sharing Center to connect access point to router wirelessly. 
• Step 4:Next, select the network to which you have connected the system and then click Details.
• Step 5:Now, you can view the Default Gateway of the router.
• Step 6:For Mac users, open Network and then select Advanced TCP/IP.
• Step 7:Here, you can see the IP address of the router.
• Step 8:Next, change the working mode of the router to convert a router to an access point.
• Step 9:Connect the router that you wish to use as an access point.
• Step 10:Launch a new web browser and type the IP address of the router setup.
• Step 11:Enter the password and click the Log In button.
• Step 12:Next, on the Home page, click the Advanced tab.
• Step 13:In the left pane, select the Operation Mode to connect access point to router wirelessly.
• Step 14:Now, change the access point mode and then click the Save button.
• Step 15:The router will start to reboot to apply the changes.
• Step 16:Once the rebooting process is done, onnect two routers with an Ethernet cable to convert a router to an access point. 
• Step 17:Plug in one end of the Ethernet cable to the LAN port of the main router and the other end to the WAN port of the access point.
• Step 18:Now, reconnect the Access point and then open a new web browser to open the routers home page.
• Step 19:Again, type the password and click the Log In button.
• Step 20:Modify the SSID and the password. Click Next.
• Step 21:Now, click the Save button to apply the settings that you have done.
• Step 22:Now, go back to the Status page and search the Access Point’s new IP address.
• Step 23:This IP address is assigned by the main router.
• Step 24:You can open the router setup web page with this IP address also to convert a router to an access point.
• Step 25:The setup to connect access point to router wirelessly is now complete, and the access point is ready to use.
